Lately, the Twitter app for iPhone and Android has received an update. The update comes in version 3.1.0 for Android and 4.1 for the iPhone. It brings back the swipe gesture shortcut and adds the ability to copy and paste from profiles and within tweets along with offering

For the iPhone, it brings swipe shortcut,
copy and paste for tweets and profiles, press and hold actions on links in tweet details, font size settings, direct message improvements, confirmation alert for Find Friends, improved startup time and general performance, improved image quality in tweet detail, accessibility improvements, profile shows whether a use follows you, verified badges in people search results, Turkish language and lots of bug fixes.
For Android, it brings swipe shortcut, improved scrolling and network performance, improved support for devices running ICS, confirmation dialogue for Find Friends, security improvements, Filipino and simplified Chinese languages and lots of bug fixes.
The Twitter for Android app also supports Kindle Fire (link), The NOOK Tablet and Barnes & Noble NOOK Color. We know the last update that the Twitter apps received was back in December.
