Press Photos of the Motorola DROID X^2 Released

Droid X^2

Some new press photos have been released of the successor to the Motorola DROID X. This device however will not be known as DROID X2 as many would have expected. Instead, this device will be called the DROID X^2 (X squared), that is considering what’s written on the back panel. The name is not the only thing that excites us though.

It comes with a 1.2 GHz dual core CPU instead of 1 GHz processor like seen on its predecessor which is a nice addition to this device. Other features include a 4.3-inch display with qHD resolution this time and it is likely to possess a 768 MB RAM, the same 8MP camera minus the shutter button and whether it will run Android 2.3 Gingerbread or not is still unknown. Other specs will remain the same as the DROID X. The disappointing part though however is that the DROID X^2 will not have LTE connectivity as we all expected. Hopefully the DROID X^2 comes with Gingerbread on board. The launch date is also unknown.

There are a bunch of things we’d like to know soon from Verizon, the launch date being one of them. But either way, we are very excited to finally see the successor to one of the best smartphones by Motorola.
