Apple held the WWDC event at San Francisco a couple of days ago which we all know by now. But what do these announcements mean to us? Well, firstly the announcement of Mac OS X Lion. Though it’s not as major as the announcement of iOS 5, it is something that nobody can disregard. Macbooks and iMacs are widely used all over the globe, so this basically means good news for them. Survey Indicates That Android Is Still On Top In Terms Of Market Share

Ever since Android stepped into the scene, other platforms (BlackBerry especially) have been having a hard time. But what could be the reason for that? Well, in my opinion it’s the open sourced nature of Android that has brought it where it is today. On the other hand there is Apple, which has a different set of customers with slightly different mindsets. The iPhone was launched in 2007 with much grandeur by Apple. Back then the iPhone was one of a kind, now with the emergence of Android, we get … [Read more...]

Apple Gives Its Response To Amazon’s Counter Allegations

The Apple/Amazon battle is all but over with both companies flinging shots at each other. Amazon responded aggressively recently to Apple's claims of copyright infringement by Amazon with the use of the term App Store. Amazon said that the term App Store is a generic term and Apple cannot sue them. And now Apple seems to have responded to that counter attack by Amazon. Location tracking allegations were thrashed on Apple and later on Google. As a result both the companies were scheduled to appear before a senate on the 10th of May. The Deputy Assistant Attorney General Jason Weinstein attending a senate hearing called by Al Franken said that it was in the government's interest that the carriers kept track of user locations and stated that this should continue for the next two years. This is what he had to say - "When this information is not stored, it may be … [Read more...]

White iPhone 4 Thicker Than the Black Version

The launch of the white iPhone 4 seemed like a pretty good one. Most considered it to be exactly the same as its black variant with the white color of course. What they didn't know though, was that there was a technical flaw quietly waiting for us. Apparently the white iPhone 4 is a bit thicker than its black sibling. We know it doesn't make much of a difference but still it matters a whole lot if a user wants to attach his own case or an iPhone bumper perhaps. And if the case is a bit tight(as … [Read more...]
